Q: How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been behind a manual film camera since I was about 10, shooting slides with my dad’s Canon AE-1. Professionally, I have been photographing weddings and portrait sessions for over 10 years. My knowledge of photography stems from manual film days and my aesthetic is equally timeless.
Q: What should I (we) wear?
A: I’m happy to consult with you on your outfit choices before the session! Clothing can have a big impact on the final images and color and style combinations should be chosen according to the individuals and chosen setting.
Q: How far will you travel?
A: I will travel within 40 miles of Metairie, LA for no additional charge. I will happily travel further for $1/mile round trip.
Q: Do you have lighting?
A: I use natural and available light whenever possible. This requires a creative approach that is often the birth of special images. I do have experience with studio lighting and use speedlights inconspicuously at weddings when available light becomes sparse.
Q: Do you edit all photos?
A: I edit all photos that I feel will complete an album. There may be some photo from your session that I choose not to edit. I promise that I edit all of the most special, beautiful, and artistic photos.
Q: How long does it take to receive the edited photos?
A: I usually edit the photos from your session within a week. Sometimes, I have a busy schedule and it takes a bit longer. You can expect your web album to be available within 2 weeks of your session date. Weddings sometimes require up to 30 days, although this is rare.
Q: Do you offer both color and b&w?
A: I do! Images are edited to enhance their best qualities, using color or b&w as needed.
Q: Do you offer video?
A: I am currently experimenting with video to create short cameos of your family or your special day. I hope to be offering these services in the future!
